Dear YOnderers,

YOconomy, means bigger discounts!

In the past two weeks, we’ve been hearing questions from you asking where the big YO discounts have gone, which I wanted to address head-on. They are alive and kicking (us). In fact, the average discount has more than doubled since YOYO$ became a currency equal to USD in July, and usable to purchase 100% of plans.

The new YOconomy works similarly to your airmiles account: you use YOYO$ to get up to 100% off the cost of your plan and use discounts to decrease the number of YOYO$ required. In the last month, over 3,000 YOnderers (that’s what we call you) purchased plans entirely with YOYO$, and more than 90% used YOYO$ to subsidize plan purchase. So, keep exploring Yonderland and look for those deals.

Standing with Ukraine

As you may not know, a big part of Team YO is Ukrainian. Those still in Ukraine navigate the dangers of draft notices, ballistic missiles, and drones every day. Those who have escaped are safer, but they are separated from family and friends and left a large chunk of their heart at home.

At this particularly dangerous time, as tyrants are pushing hard for Ukraine to give up Crimea and Donbas in exchange for a peace no one can guarantee, Ukraine needs our support more than ever.

But what can we, a poor, undernourished startup, give? Certainly not enough to make a difference by ourselves, but we really do need to give something. Everybody needs to give something; we need to lead by example.

So today we launched a new, cash-only “Stand with Ukraine”  Europe Explorer (Stand w'Ukraine) and Global Explorer (Stand w'Ukraine). These plans cost 20% more than our insanely inexpensive standard Global and Europe Explorer plans!!!!! BUT… we will donate 50% of the cash we receive from sales of the Stand with Ukraine plans to the following organizations through the official Ukrainian donation platform: https://war.ukraine.ua/donate/:

  • The Come Back Alive Foundation: Launched in 2014 to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine by supplying technology and training to help save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
  • The Hospitallers Battalion: A voluntary organization of paramedics founded in 2014. Donations are spent on medicines and medical supplies for wounded Ukrainian defenders.
  • Nova Ukraine: A nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and strengthening democracy in Ukraine.
  • Tabletochki Charity Foundation: On July 8, the biggest Ukrainian children’s hospital, Ohmatdyt, was affected by a particularly brutal Russian attack. People were injured, including children. The intensive care, surgery, and oncology departments of the hospital have been damaged, and our money can help with the rebuilding.

Why are we not giving 100% of the plan's value? We are young and financially vulnerable and already drowning in YOYO$ redemptions. This is the best we can do while staying alive.

We will message the amount we have collected and where it has been donated weekly.

By helping our family, we defend the world.

Let's YO!
